Hooray, the holidays are coming! Which means delicious food, festivities, and, most importantly, getting to hang out with family that usually you don’t get to see. If you’re like me, that last part is your favorite part–family is everything.

The other thing this time of year brings is holiday portrait sessions. If you’ve waited all year to get updated photos of the family, now is the time. Kiddos grow up too fast not to get new family portraits each year. Plus new wall art is a great excuse to redecorate the house with a fresh look for the new year.

There are plenty of different ideas when it comes to what to do for holiday portraits but one that most people don’t think about is to book one when extended family is around. This way you make sure that grandma and grandpa (or oma and opa, or mimi and papa) are included in photos with the kiddos that later everyone will really cherish, and you get some extra bonding time with your siblings, picking on each other and reenacting old family photos.
