North Carolina is one of the lucky states whose leaves turn beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow in fall. The leaves and glow of the late afternoon sun, make fall one of my favorite times to photograph outdoor weddings.
This was just one of the many reasons why it was so much fun to be a part of Adrienne and Tyler’s special day. There were definitely pumpkins, pinecones and tea lights decorating the day, but my favorite wedding detail was the flowers. Instead of using freshly cut floral arrangements, Adrienne had the awesome idea of using dried flowers for the bouquets and table settings – a perfect match for the fall-themed wedding. (Side note and wedding planning hint: It turns out you can have very high quality dried floral arrangements for MUCH cheaper than the usual price for wedding flowers.)
Another super cool detail was that Adrienne’s wedding dress was actually originally her great-grandmother’s! Ship to Shore Clothier out of Asheville (check out their link, along with the other venders at the bottom of the page) helped her alter the dress a bit, which turned out to be incredibly majestic and elegant.
The ceremony and reception were both at the Brookstown Inn, which made it super convenient to take some photos strolling around the beautiful Old Salem Historic District. We also got really lucky with the weather that afternoon and you could just see happiness radiating from the two of them as the we made our way back to the reception to party the night away.
Adrienne and Tyler, I wish you both many more beautiful autumns to come!
